Overview: A SaaS client came to Digitalonian wanting to improve their online presence and outpace the competition in search. Over a focused five-month engagement (February to July 2021), we combined audience-driven content, on-page and technical optimization, and targeted link building to grow organic traffic, traffic value, and ranking keywords dramatically.

The client needed to boost organic traffic and search rankings to compete in a crowded market. The objectives were clear: enhance the website’s visibility in organic search, increase the site’s authority as measured by domain rating, and improve user experience alongside the site’s technical performance.

The Strategy

Audience-Driven Blog Content

We developed a content strategy focused on real audience pain points, sourced by scraping customer data. We targeted question-based keywords and crafted comprehensive informational guides, using unconventional research methods — including mining Reddit for unexplored queries — to surface topics competitors had missed.

Competitor & Keyword Analysis

An in-depth analysis of competitors’ organic content helped us narrow down which pages could be optimized and understand the searcher intent behind target queries. We then prioritized “low-hanging fruit” keywords — those ranking on the second and third pages (positions 11–30) and in positions 4–10 on the first page — where a focused push could deliver outsized ranking gains, and assessed each keyword’s traffic potential before building it into the SEO strategy.

Core Landing Page Optimization

We refined the core landing pages (money pages) to align closely with search intent for target keywords, leveraging SurferSEO to match our content with top-performing SERP results.

Technical Optimization

On the technical side, we rectified all internal 404 errors and improved internal linking, enhanced UI/UX elements for better readability and navigation, and optimized page speed and Core Web Vitals by streamlining code and image file sizes.

Link Building
